I Don’t Like Being Frugal. But I Love The Results

There is a good post over at The Mighty Bargain Hunter about a quote from the late great Jack LaLanne.

The  article seems to suggest that it’s ok to do difficult things, like working out, because the results justify the effort.

That’s a good point, but do you REALLY want to be in a position where you are doing something you don’t like repeatedly for the rest of your life?  Maybe not.

Budgeting is one of those activities that produces great results and yet people shy away from taking control of their finances because they say it’s too hard.  So, instead of saving money, they just throw up their hands and pledge to do it “some other time” which means “never.”  Sometimes it takes a powerful wake up call, like bankruptcy, to get started on building that budget.  Of course, by then it’s a little too late.

So what’s the solution?

Sharing The Lawnmover

It’s that time of the year again.  The weather is heating up and the garden is getting out of control.  Time for yard work.  You need a lawn mower to get the job done but do you need to go out an purchase an expensive machine?  Maybe not.
